Inspiring Innovation - Empowering Youth
Incubator · Ahmedabad · Healthcare & Life Sciences, Climate & Energy, Defense & Space, Software · Pre-Seed, Seed
iCreate is a technology business incubator started in 2012 under GFEE (Gujarat Foundation for Entrepreneurial Excellence), a 50:50 joint venture between GMDC and GEVPF, supported by the Government of Gujarat and the Government of India and run on a public private partnership model. It takes in technology-innovation startups at every stage from idea to scale-up, describes itself as one of the few Indian incubators with a focus on hardware-based innovation while also encouraging software, and works across electric vehicles, renewable energy, fintech, IoT, watertech, healthtech, agritech, drones, aerospace and defence. It follows a high-touch, entrepreneur-first approach: it bets on the individual or team rather than a specific idea, assigns dedicated startup lifecycle coaches, supports pivots, and operates from a 40-acre residential campus at Dev Dholera near Ahmedabad with the iLab rapid prototyping facility and Cisco's largest IoT lab in India. It acts as a gateway to government grant schemes (DST NIDHI, MeitY TIDE 2.0, Startup Gujarat), invests Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh itself at pre-seed and seed stage and syndicates with angel networks and VCs; the site reports 958 startups supported, 150+ patents by startups and 1,620 jobs generated.
