FITT is the industry-academia interface of IIT Delhi, registered as a society in 1992, and has run the Institute's startup incubation programme since 1999-2000; its scale-up at the IIT Delhi Research and Innovation Park can house more than 125 startups. It takes in technology-driven startups, preferably within five years of inception, and makes first-cheque early investments in deep-tech startups through grants, debt and equity, with the FITT Investment Fund launched in April 2024 as a syndicated fund in which FITT leads and HNIs, VC firms, angels and corporates co-invest. It is the partner or nodal incubator for DST NIDHI-SSS, BIRAC BioNEST, BIG, SEED and LEAP, SISFS, MeitY TIDE 2.0 and SAMRIDH, and runs corporate-backed accelerators with Kotak Mahindra Bank, Microsoft, Meta, IDFC FIRST Bank, DS Group and others. The Kotak BizLabs page states 7500+ jobs created by FITT-incubated companies and about $1B combined portfolio value, and the BioNEST page states that its 24 graduated biotech startups raised more than ₹50 Cr (raised by incubatees).
